XIAOMI Poco X3 NFC – Full Review

Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC is a good mid-range phone that brings a lot of trendy features. It comes with a quad-camera setup, a high refresh rate screen, and a great chipset. Battery life is very good and the phone truly delivers what it promises. Another big plus is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on these features. Poco X3 NFC comes at a very affordable price.

Design

The phone has a unique design. There is a big Poco logo on the back, so it is hard to mistake it for another phone. The camera bump fits nicely into the whole design. Corners are nicely curved and there are no sharp edges, which makes this phone very easy to hold. Xiaomi used pretty good materials, considering, this is just a mid-range phone. You will find a very protective Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, which protects the screen from scratches and other damage if the phone is accidentally dropped. The back is made out of plastic, but the frame is aluminum. The phone also features dust and splash resistance, which comes in handy when it’s raining.

Screen

Poco X3 NFC comes with a 6.67 inch IPS LCD screen that also features a high refresh rate. Usually, you will find a 120 Hz refresh rate on more premium phones, but this one has it too. This basically makes scrolling look super smooth and brings other benefits regarding display. There is also support for HDR10 and the phone features a Full HD resolution, which is sort of common among mid-rangers. Contrast looks very fine and you will find that colours are quite accurate once you adjust them a little bit in the settings. Anyway, the content looks great and you can really enjoy all the benefits of a large screen.

Performance

The phone runs on a good Snapdragon 732G chipset. It offers some of the best performance in its class. It has a very good CPU and a high-quality GPU, which is Adreno 618. The phone can outperform almost all other mid-rangers. In fact, 732G was actually optimized for gaming. This means that the graphics card is higher clocked and that also supports high resolutions. Anyway, the gaming experience is great and games run very smoothly on this phone. There are also no problems with overheating. You will most likely find a version with 6 GB of RAM, although there is a possibility of finding one with 8 GB. Anyhow, 6 GB of RAM is more than enough for just about any use. It is actually a sweet spot for an average user, but it will work fine for advanced uses too. This phone can come with 64 or 128 GB of internal storage built-in. So pay attention to this if storage is important to you. However, in either case, it is expendable. So if you feel like you need more space for photos and other stuff you just upgrade it a little.

Camera

Poco X3 NFC has a quad-camera setup. It is equipped with a 64 MP main camera, 13 MP ultrawide camera, 2 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The daytime photos look excellent for this class. The photos taken with the main camera come out very sharp with a lot of detail and a wide dynamic range. There is also practically no noise and colours are very accurate. You can also make very decent selfies with a 20 MP selfie camera. The subject is nicely exposed with a high level of detail. Zoom shots look okay but do not have as much detail as you would expect. Also, there is more noise in the photos. However, this is more or less due to lack of a telephoto camera. Close-up shots taken with a macro camera are more or less decent. They have as much detail as you would expect from a 2 MP camera, but noise is very low. Sharpness could be improved on this camera. Low light photography is not the best. The dynamic range is pretty narrow and images are sort of noisy. Colors remain good, but highlights and shadows do not look their best. However, for a basic user, all this might not pose a problem. Night mode might help improve photos. Still, you will find better low light performance on other mid-range phones.

Video recording is quite good. You can make 4K videos at 30 fps. There is also an option for more basic footage that can be recorded up to 1080p. In general, videos have great contrast and accurate colors.  The dynamic range is wide enough, however, the level of detail could be improved.

Battery

The phone is equipped with a large 5160 mAh non-removable battery. The endurance is great, just as you would expect from such a large battery. The phone can last over 120 hours on a full charge. Moreover, it is more than enough to get you through the day, regardless of the type of use. Additionally, you can quickly recharge the battery, using the 33W charger that comes with a phone. With it you can have your battery back at 100% in just 65 minutes as advertised.

Final thoughts

In conclusion, Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC is truly one of the best phones that also come at a low price. You basically get everything you need with this phone and best of all, there is a lot of quality behind all the features you will find here. Great battery life, good chipset, quad-camera setup, high refresh rate, and many more. You will truly enjoy this phone, so if you are thinking of getting it, then, by all means, buy it. You will not be disappointed.
